My sister's husband's family have a cabin on a river north of her town. We spent a day there and had so much fun. The kids played and splashed and floated and talked and pretended. The adults talked and napped and watched and smiled. Much fun was had by all.
Happy to just watch the others get wet.
Ready to go play in the water.
Getting ready to float down the river.
Some adults took car loads of people up river,
just so they could float down to the cabin.
Watch out for rocks!
Napping.
Relaxing.
Chatting.
Here they come!
The hammock was a favorite spot.
Harmonie wanted to go in but I didn't.
So I used a rope to keep tabs on her.
She loved it!
Domonique was even brave with the rope idea!
She was finally able to get in the water.
Adult conversations.
Not so adult conversations - but wait....
a couple of those sweet girls are adults.
How did that happen?
Staying in the river for as long as possible.
Whittling.
Seeking protection.
Seeking help.
Ice Cream Cone Smores. Yum!
We all had a great time! Many thanks to our extended family for letting us use their spot for the day! We got home with enough time to give our kids showers before we put them to bed. They all drifted off to sleep rather quickly!
After the younger kids are all in bed, the older kids stay up and chat some more. Some of the adults stick around, and some head off to bed as well. I enjoyed seeing these three sisters sitting together!
Aunt Monique with her helpers for tomorrows dessert at the picnic.
What great memories she is making with her nieces and nephews.
