Things worked out in the end

This year I wasn't quite as organized as I should have been about my birthdays. Normally I plan out the dinners and desserts so that I know what I'm doing, but I let it slide this year and it was a little stressful - self induced. Fortunately, it all turned out okay and I did have a good time after it was all over with.

For my Fake Birthday we enjoyed homemade pizza for dinner! I saved the best for last - deep dish with veggies! It was so yummy!

For dessert I opted for ice cream sundaes and we had lots of toppings! We all enjoyed the yumminess!

For my Almost Birthday we enjoyed eggs, sausages and zucchini muffins for dinner. It was a little later than our usual dinner time because I had a hard time deciding what to make. We have lots of eggs so this is what I made and we all enjoyed it!

For dessert I tried brownie cupcakes with your choice of topping. The brownies didn't want to come out of the muffin pans so that was frustrating but they tasted good anyway.

For my Real Birthday we enjoyed the surprise of doughnuts for breakfast! He brought home 2 dozen doughnuts and so we all had good yummies for our tummies! I also received my gift - a kitchen aid ice cream making bowl. That will be so yummy!

Marissa wanted to make a mirror cake so that's what we ended up having for my birthday. It was really neat to make and looked really cool so we were all excited that it turned out!

For dinner I made Loaded Potato Soup with my mom's rolls. It was delicious!

Cutting the cake turned out to be a challenge because the glaze has gelatin in it so it just stretched as you tried to cut it. I guess maybe a hot knife would have done a better job. It was a learning experience but tasted just fine! Yummy birthday cake for all!

You can see the glaze is sliding off the cake. It was really interesting.

My other birthday presents were actually delivered on Saturday (3/25)! We hope they work better than the older ones.

My wonderful friend, Meghan, stopped by on Thursday to play with my youngest girls and she brought me a birthday treat! They were all delicious and I even shared some with Kevin. What a special extra birthday treat!

Marissa had fun with playdoh

But she can't make anything simple.
She always does a great job because she is so creative!
She copied Harmonie's turtle, only much smaller.

Tiny little rose.

Kite flying weather

They were so excited to take out Domonique's new kite and try it out. Fortunately, it was a great flying kite and Camdilyn had a really good time!

Domonique was able to have a turn as well.

Camdilyn chased the tails while Domonique tried to keep it up.

More fun afternoon activities

They really like playing with Playdoh.
I am not so keen on it, so I just try to stay away.
I do have to come see their creations, though.

The Nativity

She smiles for the camera!

Marissa had fun doing the girls' hair.
It certainly was interesting.
(But it was terrible to take out the next day.)

Happy St. Patrick's Day

This is how our morning went!

Yummy pancakes and ice cream, just because...
and a funny little note from Marissa.

I guess she got a little too hungry and couldn't wait anymore.

New frames for all my friends

So here's Ben's new look....
yes, it looks a lot like the old look.
(3/6)

Yes, those are very pink.
Yes, this is very Kemiah.

 Marissa went with a blue/purple frame. (3/10)

We took the scratched lenses out of Kemiah's old frames,
and the little girls really enjoy them!
(Camdilyn on 3/9)

So cute!
They have to wear a headband to keep the frames on their faces.

Science experiment efforts

Ben had an experiment that we thought we needed to do to get the results for him to be able to enter the data. So I got the ingredients we didn't have on hand and we did the experiment. It didn't go quite like the one on the video in his class but we had some fun. He was very precise and exact. Then he figured out that he just needed to "guess" the data from the information in the video! Ack! Silly science!

Littlest buddies

I'm pretty sure Camdilyn was "reading" to Naomi.
But then something overtook her.
Naomi enjoyed playing with Camdilyn's hair while she sucked her thumb.

Hello?

Let me see my picture!
