This year I wasn't quite as organized as I should have been about my birthdays. Normally I plan out the dinners and desserts so that I know what I'm doing, but I let it slide this year and it was a little stressful - self induced. Fortunately, it all turned out okay and I did have a good time after it was all over with.
For my Fake Birthday we enjoyed homemade pizza for dinner! I saved the best for last - deep dish with veggies! It was so yummy!
For dessert I opted for ice cream sundaes and we had lots of toppings! We all enjoyed the yumminess!
For my Almost Birthday we enjoyed eggs, sausages and zucchini muffins for dinner. It was a little later than our usual dinner time because I had a hard time deciding what to make. We have lots of eggs so this is what I made and we all enjoyed it!
For dessert I tried brownie cupcakes with your choice of topping. The brownies didn't want to come out of the muffin pans so that was frustrating but they tasted good anyway.
For my Real Birthday we enjoyed the surprise of doughnuts for breakfast! He brought home 2 dozen doughnuts and so we all had good yummies for our tummies! I also received my gift - a kitchen aid ice cream making bowl. That will be so yummy!
Marissa wanted to make a mirror cake so that's what we ended up having for my birthday. It was really neat to make and looked really cool so we were all excited that it turned out!
For dinner I made Loaded Potato Soup with my mom's rolls. It was delicious!
Cutting the cake turned out to be a challenge because the glaze has gelatin in it so it just stretched as you tried to cut it. I guess maybe a hot knife would have done a better job. It was a learning experience but tasted just fine! Yummy birthday cake for all!
You can see the glaze is sliding off the cake. It was really interesting.
My other birthday presents were actually delivered on Saturday (3/25)! We hope they work better than the older ones.
My wonderful friend, Meghan, stopped by on Thursday to play with my youngest girls and she brought me a birthday treat! They were all delicious and I even shared some with Kevin. What a special extra birthday treat!
