Who really buys these?

I had an encounter with these a few weeks back, but it was total strangers that were having fun with them. I even took a picture for them and laughed as they enjoyed putting these giant animal heads on their own heads. I laughed again today, while shopping with Kemiah and Xiomara, and had the girls put on the heads so I could take a picture of them.

But really, why would you buy one and what would you do with it?
