What have I done for someone today?
Have I done any good in the world today?
You will never regret a kind deed done to someone in need.

Did it Myself

I decided to make a counter for a corner in my kitchen which needed some help. I am a piler and can't seem to find a good place for some things so they just start to collect. That's what was going on in this corner of my kitchen. I saw a post on facebook about making things from pallets and got the idea to use the pallets I already had! We used them for holding all our wood but I figured I could try it out and if I wanted newer pallets, I could do it again with newer pallets. So these are aged, and were a bit dirty but I cleaned them up and sanded them down and put them together with a little bit of sawing and nailing. It fit perfectly (I hadn't bothered to measure it so I was certainly pleased when it fit just right in the spot.) I tucked my piles under and on top and now I feel so much better. It's not much to look at but it does that job! And I only got two splinters in my fingers!

Pictures of my cute kids!

Such adorable little people.
Since they were all dressed up,
for the recital,
I made them let me take pictures of them.

Big group!

Harmonie

Ben (gave me two pictures)

Camdilyn (wouldn't stand still for me, so Dad had to come help)

The 5 Piano Kids

Spring Piano Recital

The kids had their second piano recital. This time we combined with two other teachers so there were 13 kids total, and we did it at the church building on the new electric piano. They had a cute program and went from youngest to oldest. I made us all a little late so I didn't have time to get the video camera set up but I took a picture of each child as they played. They each did a great job and I'm sure they were all happy when it was over. We all enjoyed ice cream sundaes after the performance. It was a very nice evening.

Memorial Day fun!

Our morning was spent working in our garden. Then we went to the Ward Picnic. Such fun with great friends. We enjoyed the potluck lunch, playground, games, and chatting. We came home for a break and hoping the weather would pass over. Kevin and Ben had to go out to pick up flags which they had put up in the morning (a Scout fundraiser) so they dropped us off at our friend's house and the girls enjoyed swimming. The weather wasn't great but the girls enjoyed it anyway. I stayed out of the water because I was pretty sure the littlest girls wouldn't stay in very long. And I was right. They sure had a good time.

Camdilyn was so ready to get in.

I found a life vest to fit Camdilyn and Marissa took her around.

The three youngest had a good time playing outside the pool.

While the big girls enjoyed the water for as long as possible.

Our friend even shared brownies with us. What a treat.

She loved to carry this one around.

And offered it to Harmonie for a trade.

Fortunately, Harmonie agreed.

Off they go!

It was late when the boys got back so we packed up and headed home. Ben was so sad that he didn't get to swim but there will be other times. What a great blessing and joy it is to be able to use our friend's pool.
