Visit to Historic Nauvoo

Last time we came to visit my parents - in April, I think - the kids didn't want to come to Nauvoo, so we stayed at their house and played and had a good time. This time the kids decided we could visit Nauvoo and we enjoyed all our favorite places - except for the outdoor kid games because that was closed up for the season.

Plants and flowers on the way to the Family Living Center.

Bread tasting and learning how they made it long ago.

Weaving...

Rope making - we love this part and everyone got to do something.

Barrel making - they could be tight or loose.

Outdoor kitchen at the bakery.

Looking up at the temple!

Pretty leaves.

The tin smith's home and shop.

The Browning home and gun shop.

 Really happy baby.

Traditional picture in front of the brick yard.

Yes, that's me in a picture! Hooray for someone offering to take our picture!

Learning how they used to make bricks.

Blacksmith...

Stopped by the temple!

What a great group of kids!

Just beautiful!

I'm so glad they wanted to go. We were gone for a long time and everyone handled it really well. We had so much fun and I'm sure the younger kids learned something, while the older kids helped teach and review what they already learned.
