Look at all those cars!

One parting picture of our reunion. I thought the view of all the cars parked side by side was a funny sight. There were lots of vehicles there to transport so many people. It was a great reunion and I am so grateful to everyone for making it so marvelous! I am so happy that we were able to have so many in attendance - only two were missing, although Elisa did miss most of it. Thank you all!

Pizza is not Chinese.

For our Chinese dinner, Monique had some wonderful things planned. After two days of being in the kitchen she decided she didn't want to do that again so we ordered pizza. Everyone was just fine with that and it was the perfect ending to our vacation - no one had to slave over the food so everyone was able to enjoy all the activities!

We gathered for our scriptural thought and it was my turn. 

I started out asking: What is the most important commandment? Many people gave really good answers - love God, love our neighbor, obey, be kind, don't steal...

The most important commandment is the one you are having the hardest time keeping.

I shared the story from President Faust about his horse, Dandy, who didn't like fences. It would get out all the time because it didn't like to be restricted. One day, he got out and took another horse with him. They found an abandoned barn with feed. They ate it but didn't know it was poisoned to kill the rats. They both died.

I had Kevin read the poem The Ambulance Down in the Valley. Do you want an ambulance in the valley or a fence on the cliff to prevent the injuries in the valley?

I shared the scripture: If you love me, keep my commandments.

Obedience shouldn't be looked on as a bad thing. 

We all enjoyed fortune cookies and creamy cheese cake for dessert.

These boys always find something exciting!

The Sylvester boys are always good at finding critters - and this time it was a turtle. They brought it up for all to see and then let it go again. What a fun addition.

Last lake hoorah!

Having the lake a short walk from the house, with a dock and toys and a boat makes this a wonderful place to have our family reunion. The kids are always playing, active, and busy making memories.

Uncle Gary took people out on the boat and pulled them on the tube. Everyone enjoyed it and said it was better than last time! What a fun time they all had.

I was so happy with the way they turned out. We used less dye so they really looked great, but that's just my opinion!

Fish finale

Uncle Gary took time to show Ben how to clean the fish, get the meat and to do it carefully.

After dinner, he took time to teach Ben how to bread it and fry it! And then we all tasted a bit of it. Ben really liked it and had a wonderful time. It was some good fish!

Definitely an outside game - messy! Everyone watched as Aunt Alise showed them what to do and then they all rushed to do it!

Start with positioning an ice cream cone in their mouth.

Drop mini marshmallows into the cone while standing up.

Spray whipped cream on top -

What a fabulous activity and so tasty, too! Thank you for the memories, Aunt Alise! After we cleaned up a bit we sent them all down to the lake to get washed off in the water. I don't think anyone complained about that part either.
