Just trying out my camera lenses

When we got home from the reunion, I used my camera body with some old lenses that I have on hand. I remembered one didn't work at all, but it did for a few pictures. After that, the camera body wouldn't recognize the lens. Bummer.

Kemiah lost a tooth!

She got her hair cut at the reunion, so short and cute.

We started our day with sprinkle pancakes.

This time I put the colored sugar directly on the griddles 

so they didn't dissolve in the batter.

Always remember

I love it when Camdilyn is coloring and she starts singing Primary songs. It helps me remember years ago, when Ben and Marissa and Emily were small and they would sing Primary songs, too. What a wonderful thing to hear and treasure.

I love when I walk into the living room and see the little girls all "reading" books. They look intently at the pictures and turn the pages and are just enjoying some quiet time, on their own. Naomi will even sit on the couch or the floor and look through books. The older kids love to read, too, so I guess we just need to make sure we have good books available for them to enjoy.

I love watching the little girls be creative in their play. I don't love their messes but I do love that they will play together and have fun pretending.

I love watching my little baby wiggle inside me. I love anticipating her arrival. Which also helps me to love time with Naomi before the new one arrives.

I love the autumn colors.

I love chatting with my older kids and trying to help them deal with life with a better attitude - which is sometimes hard for me to do so I need to be patient with them as they try to figure it all out.

These children of mine are pretty awesome and I just need to remember!

Just looked neat.

I was making pretzel bites and Ben noticed the baking soda in the glass. As I stirred it up, the baking soda would just go around, but once I stopped it would settle out in this pattern. It really was neat to watch and admire. And we all enjoyed the pretzel bites!

Emily and I made a cake for Family Home Evening.

Everyone was pretty excited to get a piece.

Chocolate cake made from scratch, with white chocolate frosting.

It looks better than it than it tasted.

It was a little dry but the kids loved it.

Looking on the bright side

D: (singing) The sun is shining. The sun is shining.
E: No it's not. It's cloudy.
D:The sun is shining behind the clouds.

Isn't that a great thought? Just because you can't see it, doesn't mean it's not there.
I'm impressed my three-year-old could see that.
Sometimes, we may find ourselves stuck on the wrong side of the clouds.
The key is to remember that the sun is still shining.
We just have to rise above them; get to the other side.
That was always my favorite part of flying.
It might be all gray and cloudy when we were on the ground, but then the plane would pop through the clouds and it was awesome.
Remember the sun is always shining... some days you just might have to wait for it a little longer.

Not really important

I looked at my voicemail email today and didn't recognize the phone number, so I was intrigued to listen to the message to see who had called me. To my surprise it was me. I had run an errand and called Kevin about dinner but totally forgot and didn't recognize my own cell phone number. Is that strange? I don't use it very much and no one calls me on it so I don't know the number.

On to a potty training update: Today was the first no accident day! Hooray! She's doing so great!
