Children's Museum with some of the crew

Kevin was at home so I left Ben and Camdilyn at home, and took the rest of the girls with me to play at the Children's Museum. They had a great time and I tried to keep them dry. We enjoyed a little lunch, played with Tamara and Felix, and the girls even made some friends. It was a fun little excursion. (Oh, and some of the pictures are fuzzy, it's not your eyes or your computer. I forgot my regular camera so my iPod had to do.)

Family Home Evening Refreshments

Kemiah wanted to have rice krispie treats for part of her birthday so we ended up doing it for Monday night refreshments (her birthday is on Wednesday). The kids wanted to "make" stuff so we sat down after lunch and got creative. I obviously don't make these often enough because they didn't turn out quite right (too dry). The kids each sat at their spots with their wax paper and Halloween candy. They made something and then decorated it. It was fun to watch and see what they each came up with.

Puppet Show

A puppet group came to Bridgeport to put on a show. It wasn't really a group so much, because there were only two actors but that was enough for us. It was FREE and that is what got me hooked. We drove over to the high school and waited for the show to start. The group is based in Cincinnati, Ohio so they were running a little late because of some traffic. Anyway, they were really fun and the kids enjoyed it. We all enjoyed it. 

 

I think they called this a pole puppet, but now I'm not sure.

We even received free ice cream cone coupons for going to the show! Bonus! Now we just need to take the time to take the whole family out to McDonald's to use them. It was a fun event.

Johnson's Giant Pumpkin Farm

Tons of pictures in this one! Our friends, Tamara and Steve, came up from Detroit to go to the pumpkin farm. They invited anyone to join them so we decided to do just that. We met up with them at the farm around 2:00 yesterday and it was so fun to see them. We watched the pumpkin launch - the first of four because we were there until 5! It was a bit chilly but I brought hats and some mittens so we made it work.

There's the 40 foot tall trebuchet that launches pumpkins over 400 feet.

This is what happens to the pumpkin when it lands. The coolest part is that you see the pumpkin explode and then hear it a second later. It was just neat to witness the delay between sight and sound.

We thought it was cute that the sheep were so interested in Harmonie. Then we noticed it was trying to get our doughnuts underneath her. Tricky sheep!

Had to include the series for the last launch. Anyway, we had a great time at the pumpkin farm. It was the most time we spent with Kevin in over week so that was great, too!
