What have I done for someone today?
Have I done any good in the world today?
You will never regret a kind deed done to someone in need.

Random haircuts by a non-professional

My sister will need to fix these when we see her in June. I just couldn't take it any more and couldn't control myself. I just cut it off and would have done the oldest two girls except they wouldn't let me, and I was sort of busy with birthday stuff. Anyway, they did a fairly good job sitting still and I did a fairly good job cutting straight.
Camdilyn's first haircut

Domonique's first haircut (not just a trim)

Harmonie's second haircut

I forgot to take a before picture,
but I wanted to have an idea of how long it had been.
Good enough.

I wish I had taken more time to do it right but I really didn't have a whole lot of time. Oh well. It will grow and, like I said, my sister will fix it in June.

More of Naomi - just can't get enough of the baby!

I love to watch her sleep!

Ben loves to snuggle with her while she is sleeping.

Right thumb.

Almost in...

All the way in.
Love how they try to figure out what to do
with all those fingers
while they are loving the thumb.

Thumb Sucker!

She is getting her thumb! Sleeping through the night! She is on her way to greatness!
Oh, wait... she is already great. It is so fun to watch her suck her thumb. It's a bit of a struggle to get the thumb to the mouth but she is getting better and better. Here she has her right thumb but she will also take the left. Really, it's just a matter of which one she actually gets to the mouth. I don't think is particular about which one, yet. They always seem to end up with a favorite, so we shall see.

I do wish I could get another pacifier baby. But maybe Domonique was just special. When Domonique turned three, Emily told her she didn't need the pacifier any more and that was that. I still have an older child who won't stop sucking her thumb, even though she gave it up once. It's just such a habit and it's always with you so it's harder to give up in the end. Oh well! I guess some pacifier kids are hard to break, but easier to get rid of the pacifier than to get rid of a thumb.

Last additions.

This time it was my turn to pick the fish for the tank. I have always loved the Neon Tetras. My dad had a 55 gallon tank (I think) when I was growing up, and he had a group of Neons, along with several other varieties, but I like the schooling of the Neons. So we bought four of the cute little fish. I named them the Quad Squad.

I also talked Kevin into getting another catfish,
to keep our solo one company.
It seemed lonely and I hoped a friend would help.
Sweety (on the left) met Tweety and they are great friends,
and both seem very active.

Sleeping little girl

She just really can't do it without a nap some days.
And she knows when she needs it because she'll just zonk out.
Not sure why she laid out the burp rag for a pillow,
and used Naomi's blanket (because it was available).

Funny conversations

1. During the nightly routine, Domonique was talking about something (not really sure what it was now but that's not the main point), her dad made a comment on the side to me, and that's when Domonique said, "Are you even listening?" and the look she gave was priceless.

2. I was sitting in a chair in the school room while nursing the baby. Camdilyn came to see me and climbed onto the chair. I told her that I needed her to get off the chair. She proceeded to climb onto my legs (one of her knees on each of my legs) and said, "I off the chair, Mommy."

3. I told Ben and Emily that Alan Rickman died. They said that was upsetting and I said, "That's just life." Emily came back with, "Actually, that's death." (Note: I mean no disrespect to those who have passed on. It is just part of life. We live to die, and we die to live. Mourning is but for a moment and we will have joy again.)

Snow blocks make a snow fort

We finally got some more snow. Ben decided to make his own blocks and make a fort. I thought it was great and he had a fun time doing it, even if it was a bit cold.

He also found a drift to dig a cave into.
We just need some more snow
so we can have some more creations.

Get that hair right out of my face!

Her hair always hangs in her face.
She's not really happy when we put a pony tail in.
This works great,
she's super cute,
now she just needs to leave it in.

Sweet baby!
