Saginaw Bay Resort - Outdoor Adventure

We signed up and paid for a 3 year family plan from Outdoor Adventure. We finally made a trip up to the Saginaw Bay Resort and had a very good time. The camping spots are nice sizes, especially if no one camps on either side of you. It was Naomi's first camping trip and she did great!

Smores is always a hit and we just eat and eat!

Perfect marshmallow!

We are getting better at the food stuff that we take camping. Sometimes we have pancakes or eggs, but always sausages and we are working on biscuits.

Lunch is usually left over dinner or sandwiches or ever soup. It depends on when we eat and how much time we want to spend at the camp site.

The hardest part about biscuits is getting them cooked all the way through without burning the outside. Kevin is getting this down pretty well!

The kids really (and I do mean REALLY) enjoyed the putt-putt course. I missed most of it because I was at the site feeding the baby and cleaning up, but they really had a good time.

I walked around with Camdilyn and Naomi.

I just had to take a picture of this.... Ben's stuff after he woke up, read his scriptures and packed it all up nicely in the tent.

The girls didn't do anything but get up and read their scriptures. Fortunately, they all packed up their stuff when it was time to go.

We went to the outdoor pool but it was really cold so no one was having any fun.

So we went to the indoor pool instead. It was much warmer and we had a great time! I fed the baby, of course.

It was such a great over-nighter. We hope to be able to camp more often but we shall see how the schedule works out. I'm sure we'll get better and better at doing this, packing, preparing, executing, cooking, and we'll have fun as we learn!

Yuck!

I hate these kinds of bugs. They are nasty, ugly, scary, and just plain disgusting. I don't want to think of these things being in my home, near my bed, or walking anywhere near me. Unfortunately, this is not a picture from the island but from Michigan. I did find a few of these on the island, but usually they were much MUCH larger. I was actually relieved when I found one like this because I knew what it could have been. This is the biggest I have seen here in Michigan. I still don't like anything about them.

All cleared up, mystery solved

This is what I see when I come out my back door. It's really strange to me. The wind is not blowing off the new shoots. It hasn't rained really hard, and no hail storms. I finally stopped to make sure why suspicion was true.

This is what I saw in my tree. A squirrel having a really good time, Aussie style, sucking the sap out of the new shoots. Once it was done, it would just drop it to the ground and pick off another one. Litter bug!

Joy School "Graduation"

I'm not sure why it is called a graduation, but that's what it is called. I would just call it an end of the year party. Oh well. We had family come and see these cute little kids. They sang some songs, we gave them stuff, we watched a video, and we had food. It was fun and one last little gathering of our Joy School friends. Thanks to all who helped us, and the other mothers who worked hard to teach our little ones.
