Squirrel Time

The latest critter excitement was a little squirrel. It must have fallen from it's nest but we couldn't leave it alone. We had to get close and personal, and fortunately no one got hurt.

Note: We found two dead squirrels the next day. Not sure what happened to them but it wasn't our fault.

All cleared up, mystery solved

This is what I see when I come out my back door. It's really strange to me. The wind is not blowing off the new shoots. It hasn't rained really hard, and no hail storms. I finally stopped to make sure why suspicion was true. 

This is what I saw in my tree. A squirrel having a really good time, Aussie style, sucking the sap out of the new shoots. Once it was done, it would just drop it to the ground and pick off another one. Litter bug!

Fun little visitor!

The kids picked some of our corn (that we didn't harvest so now it's not good for eating) and put it out for the animals. It has been really fun to watch the squirrels (maybe it's just the same one) come and eat right outside our dining room window. It doesn't seem to mind us watching it either.
