Just me and Emily

The summer reading program at our library always has a drawing for bigger prizes for those who complete the program. Emily seems to be the lucky one in our family and usually wins a bonus prize. This year she won two movie tickets to the theater in Birch Run, the city just south of us. We have never been to that theater so we had no idea what to expect. When we told the ticket guy which movie we wanted to see, he said it was in one of their smaller theaters so I was expecting small, and tight. We walked in and it was smallish but the seats were huge. As we sat down, we realized that we could recline. Not simply by pushing the chair back but by pushing a button and it would recline to whatever position you wanted it. We thought it was the coolest thing ever. It was very fun to spend some time with Emily, and we enjoyed watching Despicable Me 3.

Group movie date - and a catch up

 I took all the kids to the free movie today. We had such a great time together. It's so fun to watch the kids sit back and get lost.

I forgot to take pictures last week, when I took Emily and Domonique on their buddy date so here is a catch up one. What I really love about it is that Domonique is now wearing Emily's jacket. Emily gave it to her because it was a bit chilly. Selfless love for another. That's Emily's true heart shining through.

Third Buddy Movie Date

Kemiah and Ben had their turn today.

We saw Hotel Transylvania 2, and we all enjoyed it.

Yes, they had popcorn.

Yes, we went out to McDonald's.

Yes, we discussed how they could help each other more.

Good times together.

Group Movie Date

I had a Relief Society meeting last night, and left the kids with dinner dishes to clean up and get ready for bed and get everyone to bed and all that stuff. I came home knowing that I may have things to do because they may not have gotten it all taken care of. I was prepared for whatever, except for what I actually found. I walked into the kitchen when I got home and the dishes were all done, the table was wiped, the living room and library were cleaned up and all the kids were in bed! Amazing! What a wonderful treat! So, today, I took them all to the movie to say thank you - even though I praised them all in the morning, I thought this would be great! We all enjoyed our time at the movie, but we did not have lunch at McDonald's. 

2nd Buddy date at the Movies

Today it was Harmonie and Marissa's turn at the movies. They were excited but Marissa did mention that she thought it might be Chukee Cheese. We enjoyed watching the Peanuts Movie and eating popcorn and after we ate lunch at McDonald's. Some fun was had by all! (Naomi slept through the movie again - it is her nap time and I guess she enjoys being in her Momma's arms. Special treat for me.)

Buddy Dates at the Movies

We found out about a theater that was showing free movies Friday mornings. I decided to have buddy time with the kids. Xiomara and Camdilyn went first (they saw Ratchet and Clank) - and Naomi came because I didn't want to leave her at home. We enjoyed some popcorn and a movie together, then went out for lunch and some play time. I think it went well and I'm sure everyone else will enjoy their turn, when it comes around.
