Curly locks!

She loved her hair when we took it out of a braid. So curly! That's what people with straight hair want - and what people with curly hair try to undo.

More fun afternoon activities

They really like playing with Playdoh.
I am not so keen on it, so I just try to stay away.
I do have to come see their creations, though.

The Nativity

She smiles for the camera!

Marissa had fun doing the girls' hair.
It certainly was interesting.
(But it was terrible to take out the next day.)

Not quite, little one

The little girls were eating breakfast and I was trying to get them to hurry up so I could fix their hair for church. I worked on the older girls while I waited but they were still eating when I finished with Marissa, Emily, Xiomara and Kemiah. I tried to move them along saying, "I need to do your hair so hurry up." Camdilyn spoke up and said, "My hair is already doed." She shook her head so that the seven braids wiggled on her head. I explained to her that we still needed to fix her hair but I loved how she added 'ed' to do because I said we needed to do her hair. She figured it was already done because of the braids but we wanted it wavey so the braids had to come out. It all worked out and we had plenty of time but it's a great memory and I'll always remember when I doed things! Just wish I had a picture of the hair before and after. Ooops.

Precious love

Domonique received hair stuff from Grandma Graham for her birthday a few days ago, and Xiomara let Domonique do her hair today. It was just so sweet to see the delight and joy in Domonique's face because she did Xiomara's hair all by herself. What a sweet gift Xiomara gave to her little sister.

Trying new hair styles.

Can you guess where they got the idea from?

Marissa has started to do her sister's hair styles. We need to practice the french braid but she is doing her own things, too. This particular style is copied from Star Wars The Force Awakens. Harmonie tolerates it pretty well. It's just nice to see them get along.

Pretty hair

Marissa braided Emily's hair and put a golden string in it as well. They were all very excited and it was fun to see them enjoying being together.
Treasure these moments because they come and go through out the day!

Wonderful hair styles

Seeing as how my sister is the hair person, the girls are always excited to have her do their hair instead of me. These are way out of my league so it was fun to see the girls enjoy the different styles! These were the ones they had for their cousin's baptism. Marissa and Emily slept in theirs and they were fine. Kemiah and Xiomara got different ones for Sunday but I didn't get pictures of them. Now that I think about it, they all had matching styles on the Sunday before Thanksgiving so that was fun, too!

Emily had at least 9 ponytails that all connected to each other. Wow.

Kemiah and Xiomara had the same style but I only got a picture of Kemiah. I really like how it goes up her head!

Marissa also enjoyed a different style. I hope it adds to the fun memories they make with their Aunt Alise!

First real hair cut

The kids and I went to my sister's house for Thanksgiving, so we had to get hair cuts. For Kemiah and Domonique this was a first. They both did great, so it was a pleasant experience. I was sad to see the blond ends cut from Kemiah's hair but it needed to be done. Domonique just had a bit off the back because she still doesn't really have anything on the top.

All the other kids had cuts, too. Ben's hair was really long so it was quite the change when she cut it off. The other girls just got bangs cut so I didn't take pictures of them. I also got my hair cut, of course. I just can't help myself but nothing crazy, just a straight cut right above my shoulders. Thanks Sis!

The new look.

I have been talking about getting my hair cut since before we left the island. I'm used to getting it cut once a year, when I see my little sister. She does a great job and it's free! When we moved into our house in Michigan, my sister was ready to come visit and I was excited to see her, and get a hair cut. It didn't work out - our house was too small and we were busy getting settled in before Kevin started. Well, I finally just stopped in at Wal-Mart and got it cut. It felt so great! All those yucky ends were gone and when I washed it the first time, although it was weird because it was so short, it felt fantastic. Now I'll save lots of money on shampoo and conditioner because I don't have to use so much. So, here are the before and after pics.

My husband is a little crazy when he gets my camera in his hands. He'll just keep taking pictures. Usually it's of me coming at him to grab the camera but this time I was ready and started posing.

The only problem with the hair is that the new growth in the back is doing it's own little thing. I dare say it's now a bit naturally curly but none of the hair on top is going curly so it's a little weird to have the underneath stuff twisting and turning. Oh well. At least I don't have the tangly ends anymore.
