Library craft

It's getting close to autumn time so we made autumn pictures at story time. It's fun to see the different pictures created by different children. 

Harmonie started out well enough.

Then she just had fun smearing it all together.

She said it was an autumn storm.

Camdilyn didn't join us for story time.

But when she saw everyone painting she came in late.

All the other colors were used up so she only had red.

She wanted it to be a full red tree.

I helped Naomi a bit, but she had a great time.

We used pieces of sponge to apply the paint.

They really had a good time.

It's Autumn Time!

The hardest part about this time of year is the cooler temperatures. That means the kids need to start wearing shoes and jackets, but that's hard to remember when they are used to running out with sandles and just going. Fortunately, it has been mild so here's hoping it stays that way. I would love another mild winter like last year, but we are prepared for much colder.

Lots of wood to keep us warm. I am enjoying the fall colors and the kids are enjoying the leaves on the ground. It all works out! Now if we could just get healthy so everyone could stop coughing and having fevers that would be even better!

Price Nature Center - Autumn colors

The weather turned warm again last week so, last Sunday (10/9) we decided to head out to the Price Nature Center for one last walk through the woods before the cold weather came back. Besides, I was itching to get some autumn pictures with all the wonderful colors. It was so nice to walk through the woods, listening to the birds and the crunching of the leaves.









Kevin shook a skinny tree until it was leafless. We really enjoyed watching all those leaves fall down around us. It was really neat.


One of their favorite things to do is to collect acorns as we go. This time they really got into it!
