Second Weekend for Summer Camping

We headed to Saginaw Bay Resort for this weekend. It was supposed to be two nights but we didn't leave Thursday so it was just a full Friday and most of Saturday trip. We were able to enjoy lots of playing and good weather - for the most part. It is always fun to watch the kids make new friends, until some of our kids report that the other kids are not being nice. What am I supposed to do with that? It was a time to help our kids understand the influence they can have by their example for standing up for good.
Putt-putt, of course.

Playground fun with other kids.

I'm not sure I'll ever get those pants and that shirt clean.

Our favorite puppy.

Yes, we went swimming because it was sunny and warm!

Even I got in the water and Naomi really started to relax in the water.

Some of the girls stopped swimming to go play putt-putt.

Kevin eventually got in to play with the few that were still in the water.

Who has Ben's hat?

Cutest Naomi look yet!

Maybe we should come up with a different campfire dessert?
But s'mores are so yummy!

The fire looked really cool - or hot?!
Of course, this doesn't give you the true look or feeling.
Had to be there but at least now we can remember.

Saturday was very similar to Friday - after breakfast we were all off to play and have fun.

Couldn't leave without playing some horseshoes.

I hung out at the campsite a bit with Camdilyn.
Sometimes it's nice to just sit and listen.

Father's Day weekend camping trip

We decided to go camping at Rifle River Resort! The weather was just fine and we even had a dog to tag along with us. (We were taking care of Sophie so she came with us.) We enjoyed everything! We had dinner, smores, a hay ride, and swimming! The kids rode their bikes all around. We played horse shoes, too. The site we chose was a nice corner spot so we had plenty of room (especially since no one camped near us).

We gave Kevin some of his Father's Day gifts - more camping chairs and a table for cooking. It really made a big difference.

Next time we come here, we need to bring tubes to float down the river - that's the big activity at this place. All in all it's a nice place.
