Cement Day

Today was the day for the cement truck to come and fill the frames. It was me, Ben, Jay Lowry and George! Thank goodness for George. He used to do construction and cement work so he knew exactly what to do. I was so glad he was there and he had Ben do as much as he could. The cement truck driver helped out some as well. It was so nice to see the generosity of strangers to help this project be successful. I just watched and took pictures and thanked my Heavenly Father for the helpers he sent to us. I also enjoyed watching Ben work with others.

Progress on the Project

I picked up pizza and brought it to the crew working on the Eagle Scout Project. It was a warm day but they worked hard and got a lot done! What a wonderful group of friends we have who were willing to help out with the project. It was fun to come and see the results of their work.

Eagle Scout Project Preparation

Ben has been working on his Eagle Scout Project for some time, doing all the preparations and planning and calculating. The day has finally come so he spent the day building the wood frames for the cement pads that he is putting in along the river in Bridgeport. The parks department has some benches that were donated but they want them on cement pads so they don't have to worry about mowing/trimming around them. We hope to have a good turnout tomorrow to dig the holes and put the sand in the bottom so the frames are ready for cement.

My 15 year old boy using power tools! The only injury was on his finger because he smashed it with a hammer. Owie! I'm just glad we didn't have to make a trip to he ER for a more serious injury. Four wood frame built and ready for tomorrow! Good work, boy!
