Sunday afternoon

She couldn't stay awake any longer.

She brought her blankets down,

along with Brownie, the horse,

and I told her she could sit in my pink chair.

So that's what she did.

They were enjoying a game of Risk Europe,

It turns out it's better if you have more than two players.

And some of us just like to read.

Little helpers doing what they really want to do

While the big guys were at work again today, I decided to bake some cookies with the little girls. (I needed some for Stake Conference tomorrow.) They want to help so much and I try to let them do as much as possible. We made two different recipes of chocolate cookies - one with mint chips and one with salted caramel chips. I guess I needed to put the recipes in the fridge because they just went totally flat. Good thing they were soft.

They really like licking the beater most.

I liked that part as a kid, too.

Wait, I still like it now.

But I let them do it.

Duck, Buck, Pluck is what they called themselves.

Then we had a snack of peanut butter...

on spoons.

I love it when the little ones start looking at books.

She just sat right down and started flipping through it. This is a great time in her little life, where the world opens up a bit more. I love to have her bring me books and we look through them together. It is so fun and exciting to see her enjoy it.

This is something we have never seen before.

We were doing our regular stuff - school - when Kemiah said, "I see soldiers across the street." We all looked out and there was a ton of activity going on. Several cars parked up and down the street, while the armored van was in the neighbor's driveway. The state police swat team went up to the side of the house with their guns up. Nothing too crazy happened, but they did bring a couple people out. I was standing in my next door neighbor's driveway/garage with the older kids and our neighbor on the other side of our house, chatting and making up all sorts of stories. As we stood there, a uniformed officer came over to chat with us and let us know that they were serving a search warrant. It was certainly an interesting morning.

It's didn't quite work the way she wanted but each section work well. Then she just gave a little nudge to the next one and it kept going. Just fun to see creativity in all different forms.

All types of work

Today Kevin took the oldest five kids to the office to help with the billing and other things at the office. This is how they went... so excited.

While they were gone, I started making the birthday treat for the Young Women for tomorrow. I decided to do covered pretzels and we bought gluten free types for Marissa's friend. I must say they tasted really good (the white ones) but they were really time intensive. The chocolate ones weren't as awesome as I thought they would be but I'm sure they will get eaten.

What a sweet blue eyed baby girl!

Naomi is very happy to be taken care of.

(so that's actually three layers of fleece).

She is sitting in a laundry basket

with a pillow from the couch.

She tolerated it while they pushed her around in the basket,

but if they stopped she wanted to get out.

She finally lost her first tooth!

Domonique was very excited when she realized one of her teeth was loose. We kept telling her to wiggle it and wiggle it she did. Eventually she got it to the yucky point - where she can push it all the way forward with her tongue. She asked me if I would pull and so I agreed. I tied the dental floss to the tooth and used a toothpick to secure it below the tooth. I had her brace herself and then I counted to three and yanked. It popped right out and she didn't feel a thing so it was really ready to come out. I like that kind much better than the ones that I really have to tug out. Anyway, she was so excited!

I gave her the tooth case to keep it safe and we told her to put it under her pillow. A little while later, I heard her talking about it being gone - missing! OH bummer. She lost her first tooth! How crazy is that?!
