What have I done for someone today?
Have I done any good in the world today?
You will never regret a kind deed done to someone in need.

The sun is Shining! Woo Hoo!

Finally!
We have been in Keokuk for almost a week.
It has been rainy and then it got cold.
We were so excited to see all the rainbows
because that means sunshine!

Deer and fort

We love the woods in the backyard. Today we saw 5 or 6 deer running around the yard and the neighbor's yards. A couple older and a few younger. It is always fun to watch them.

We also like the woods because there are all sorts of things for us to do out there. Well, for the kids to do. Gaffa decided he wanted to build a fort with the kids. We had a fun time and the kids were all excited about it.

Not really tall enough for them to get in but it will be fun to play with and around and on. It was a great activity.

Sister Tukuafu Bread

It's a favorite with my kids and we eat it every time we come to Grammy and Gaffa's house. I guess I should make it at home but then it wouldn't be special when we visit. Three of the girls were able to help and we'll make it again so the other kids can help. It is fun because it is baked in cans. The girls enjoyed kneading the dough.

They did a great job and it turned out delicious!

S'mores!

It finally stopped raining but we didn't want to go out to the fire pit on the soggy grass, so we had s'mores in the driveway. It worked out just fine and we ate the entire bag of marshmallows and all the chocolate! I think we'll have to do that again!

Yummy, gooey deliciousness!

Beautiful day!

Today was a perfect day so we had to take advantage of it! We actually drove through the Shiawassee park and enjoyed seeing lots of beautiful sites!

Autumn is on its way.

Turtles on a log!
It was very nice and amazing to see so much protected land for the animals.

Outside activities!

I was pulling this stuff out of my garden and after I had a huge pile of it, realized maybe I was pulling something that was actually edible. Does anyone know what this is? Just thought I'd check!

It seems like they didn't do much of this throughout the summer. Now it's getting chilly so I don't know how much longer they'll be able to do it. I guess until the snow comes.

Marissa has been very diligent at learning to po-go and has gotten over 400 continuous jumps.

Roller skating is also a favorite outside activity. It's a little scary when they say, "I am so good I don't need the knee pads and elbow pads or hand pads." At least they still keep the helmets on.

Silly girl!

I know this is what you do with your plunger.

Don't worry, it's a toy plunger I bought when Ben was a little guy because he would play with the real plunger. All the kids have enjoyed playing with it so it was totally worth it!

Family Kickball game!

Ready?! Set?! KICK!

We had a great time playing together. The boys beat the girls but eventually we just worked on our skills instead of keeping score. The kids took turns kicking and running and fielding and pitching. We need to do this more often just because it's fun! Camdilyn watched from the swing and enjoyed having Domonique push her occasionally. Domonique didn't play with us at first because she was afraid but then I helped her and she had fun running around the bases. It was so cute! Harmonie was sleeping so she missed out but maybe next time.

I left both cameras outside on the kid's picnic table while we played, then forgot about them when I went inside. Unfortunately, it rained! Ack! We dried them out the best we could and they seemed to be working. I went to record Camdilyn crawling and walking but the camera wouldn't turn on. I had to plug it in and then it wouldn't shut off. We shall see what happens after the battery charges for a while but it may have to be plugged in to work and that will really limit what I can record. Total bummer!
