This is what Camdilyn does while she nurses. All my kids have played with my hair but she takes it up a notch. She will play with my hair, then twist and twirl and wrap the hair around her fingers and hand. She'll then tug, and occasionally pull, so that there is no slack in the hair she has collected. She actually will swing her arm and hand around searching for the hair, and has a hard time nursing if she doesn't have it to hold on to.

Want a free haircut?
Harmonie would love to practice her skills, so you are welcome to come over any time. She is taking new clients and no appointments are necessary. You can make requests but you get whatever she decides to give you. Good luck.
This is what she looked like before:
I guess she was tired of the bangs hanging in her eyes - I did put a ponytail in to keep them up but she would always pull it out so they would get in her face. She sure fixed that problem and now I can't put a ponytail in her hair. Oh well.

Almost there!
Camdilyn is just about ready to crawl. Interestingly enough she has her own way of doing it. She doesn't like to get on her knees so she started out with the bear crawl - on hands and feet.
But I guess she decided it was hard to see where she was going so she adjusted it a bit. Now she will get on her right foot but keeps her left knee down while getting her bum off the ground and moving forward. She is getting really good at it so she can get most anywhere that she wants to go. I haven't gotten good pictures of this but obviously I should. She can get from her back, to her tummy then get to a sitting position and then start "crawling" around to get to something so she can stand up. Totally mobile baby!
She will pull herself up on most anything so her balance while standing is getting much better. She has started to bend down to pick something up and then stand back up! What a strong little girl!
(FYI - The first pictures were taken on 7/15 and the second set on 7/21.)

Newest additions
to the Roy Family Farm.... Introducing Wilbur and Babe.
I thought we should name them Bacon and Sausage, but I was out voted (or vetoed). We picked them up tonight and they seem to like their new home. They have been shocked by the electric fence so they are finding the boundaries. They started rooting in the dirt right away and it was fun to hear them grunt. The chickens were very unsure at first but hopefully they will figure out a workable relationship.
Honorable mention: the friend of ours whom Kevin has been helping get started with chickens, needed to get rid of his two roosters so they are new to the farm as well. You can only see one in the picture but they look the same (the whiter one with dark spots). They arrived just yesterday and they seem to fit in alright. Interestingly, they don't crow here (that was an issue for our friend and the reason he had to get rid of them) so I guess our rooster is still king of the yard.

Day off to celebrate
Kevin's 38th birthday!
He asked to sleep in so we tried to be quiet.
He actually ate pancakes and ice cream for breakfast.
We played Risk with Kemiah - everyone else was doing other things so she felt left out.
After lunch, he went out to buy lumber and his own birthday present - a compound miter saw.
He wanted curry for dinner so I tried a new recipe: Coconut Curry Thai Chicken from foodnetwork.com. It turned out great and most of the kids liked it.
We had ice cream sundaes for dessert - they were delicious!
What a great day!

She didn't like it.
His "cake" was made of pistachio ice cream.
One problem with using comics for wrapping paper -
everyone wants to read them.
A pump to blow up our air mattress when we go camping.
The kids put up the streamers before breakfast.
Floor mats for his car.

I broke it so it needs to be replaced.
It didn't get here in time for his party.
A picture had to do for now.
New shirt.
The kids sang really loud at the end of the party so he plugged his ears (so did half the kids).
Happy kids making yummy sundaes.
Four flavors, fresh fruit, fudge and butterscotch sauce, nuts, sprinkles, cherries and whipped cream!
New saw got used right away!
Here's my yummy sundae!

Some of the cutest people I know
I was taking pictures of Camdilyn.
Then I hear, "take a picture of me."
Of course, the other one joins in as well.
Such fun, sweet little girls!
They love to play together,
and they love to be with their Mom!
Love these precious little ones!
